OUR POLICIES

Practice Policies

Our practice policies are designed to support safe, respectful and high-quality healthcare for all patients. Please review the information below before contacting the practice.

Appointment Policy

We aim to provide appointments on time and ask patients to arrive a few minutes before their scheduled appointment.

Longer appointments are recommended if you have multiple concerns, require a mental health consultation, health assessment, care plan, procedure or a more complex medical review.

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please let us know as early as possible so the appointment can be offered to another patient.

Fees & Billing Policy

Bargo Doctors is a bulk billing practice for Medicare-eligible services.

Most Medicare-eligible consultations and services are fully bulk billed for patients who hold a valid Medicare card.

Some procedures, consumables and services that are not covered by Medicare may attract a private fee.

Please ask our reception team before your appointment if you are unsure whether a fee applies to your consultation, procedure or service.

Results Policy

Patients are encouraged to book an appointment with their doctor to discuss investigation results.

For privacy and patient-safety reasons, clinical results are generally not interpreted or discussed by reception staff via telephone or email.

Where a result requires urgent or clinically significant follow-up, the practice will make reasonable attempts to contact the patient.

Prescription Policy

At Bargo Doctors, patient safety is our priority. Prescription requests require an appropriate clinical review and cannot be processed by email alone.

How to Request a Prescription

Patients requiring a new or repeat prescription must book either a face-to-face consultation or a telehealth consultation, where clinically appropriate.

During the consultation, your doctor may need to review your current medications, medical history, recent test results, response to treatment and any monitoring requirements before issuing a prescription.

Email Requests

Prescription requests sent by email will not be issued without a consultation. If you email the practice requesting a prescription, our reception team may ask you to book an appointment with a doctor.

Repeat Prescriptions

Even if you have previously been prescribed the medication, a consultation may still be required to ensure that ongoing treatment remains safe and appropriate.

Some medications may require regular blood tests, blood pressure checks, specialist review or other monitoring before a further prescription can be provided.

Urgent Medication Requests

Please arrange repeat prescriptions before your medication runs out. Same-day appointments cannot always be guaranteed.

If you have an urgent medication-related concern, please contact the practice by telephone so our team can advise you on the most appropriate next step.

The treating doctor retains clinical discretion regarding whether a medication can be prescribed and whether further assessment, investigation or a face-to-face consultation is required.

Referral Policy

Referrals generally require a consultation with your doctor so that the referral remains clinically appropriate, accurate and up to date.

Please ensure that your referral remains valid before attending a specialist appointment.

Patients should book an appointment if they require a new referral or renewal of an existing referral.

Telehealth Policy

Telehealth consultations may be available where clinically appropriate and where applicable Medicare eligibility requirements are met.

Suitability for telehealth is determined by the treating doctor. Some conditions require physical examination and therefore may require a face-to-face appointment.

Our reception team may recommend a face-to-face appointment depending on the reason for attendance.

Privacy & Confidentiality

Bargo Doctors is committed to protecting your personal and health information and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Personal information is handled in accordance with applicable Australian privacy legislation and professional obligations.

Our full Privacy Policy is available on our website and may also be requested from reception.

Feedback & Complaints

We welcome feedback from our patients and use it to continually improve the quality of our services.

If you have a concern, compliment or suggestion, you are encouraged to speak with our reception team or Practice Manager.

You may also contact the practice by email at reception@bargodoctors.com.au .

We aim to address concerns respectfully, fairly and in a timely manner.

Zero Tolerance Policy

Bargo Doctors is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for patients, doctors, nurses and staff.

Aggressive, abusive, threatening, intimidating, discriminatory or violent behaviour will not be tolerated.

Patients who engage in unacceptable behaviour may be asked to leave the premises. Where appropriate, future non-emergency care at the practice may also be reviewed.

Serious threats or violent behaviour may be referred to NSW Police.

Emergency Information

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 000 immediately.

Bargo Doctors is a general practice and is not equipped to manage medical emergencies over the telephone or by email.

For urgent medical care outside our opening hours, please seek assistance from an appropriate after-hours medical service or your nearest Emergency Department.
